Small towns… Big visions!

One regional member describes SEOAEA well:  “We are a creative force for significant student growth in the visual arts”. 

Tucked in a more rural part of the state we may be a few far between but, that makes us great at community building and networking across the miles. Without one big central logical meeting area, we revere among each other how we manage to each juggle our own community’s cultural needs. As members of this organization we strive to keep each other updated about our local events and attempt to support our colleagues as good neighbors. At regional meetings that atmosphere prevails as we share everything from potluck meals, to show and tell working lunch sessions. We visit schools within our region for quarterly meetings to get hands on experiences learning about hometown artists and the community art programming right next door.

In a nutshell, another member notes in a visioning exercise describing our region as… “Great environment! Great energy! Great art! Great place to work!”. We are inspired and sustained by the vast and rolling beauty surrounding us here in southeastern Ohio.
