The Annual Statehouse Student Exhibition recognizes the talent, creativity and innovation of students who receive high quality art education in our schools. The Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, joined by the Ohio Citizens for the Arts Foundation, Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board has invited the Public Relations/ Advocacy Chairs from each of the nine regions of the Ohio Art Education Association to submit 4 student works for an exhibition in the Ohio Statehouse located in Columbus, on Capitol Square. The exhibition represents elementary, middle and high school works in a beautifully framed display in the Map Room. The Map Room on the ground floor of the Ohio Statehouse features a large stone-inlay scale map of Ohio with our eighty-eight counties in a variety of marble and limestone. This exhibition is seen by more than ten-thousand people who visit and work in our Statehouse monthly.
The closing reception is a beautiful event paying specific attention to the young artists and their accomplishments. Families, friends, art teachers, and administrators are recognized for their roles in the support of quality art education in our schools.
