Ohio House of Representatives High School Student Art Exhibit
Exciting news! Letters inviting art educators to participate in the upcoming 2024-26 Ohio House of Representatives have been mailed. This is a two year, invitation only, high school exhibit that is displayed at the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts, 77 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. One piece of art is selected for each of the Ohio House of Representatives districts. There are 99 districts in Ohio, hence the former name of “The 99 Art Show”.
Invitees are expected to respond by April. 8th. At that time new art teachers will be invited to participate in districts where artwork has not yet been submitted. If you are interested in participating this year or in the future, please send your name, school name, and address of the school to ohrhighschoolart@gmail.com.
Participation is easy. In the invitation, you receive a link where you submit a high resolution photo of the student artwork along with an electronic form. We print the photo, mat, and frame the piece. Artwork will be installed this summer and will remain on display through mid-June 2026. A reception will be held for students, their families and you at the Riffe Center in October where student artists will receive a certificate and $100 award.
You are welcome to view the exhibition in person during the Riffe Center’s normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Due to Coronavirus-19 pandemic precautions, please call the Riffe Center at (614) 644-5250 to confirm that the building is open to the public before your visit.
If you are interested in participating, please email ohrhighschoolart@gmail.com with your name, school name and address. If your district is already filled your name will be put on the wait list for the next exhibition.
