The Ohio Art Education Foundation was initiated by the Fellows of the Ohio Art Education Association and is modeled after the National Art Education Foundation. The Foundation was created in 2001 to serve as the charitable auxiliary to the Ohio Art Education Association. The OAEF was developed by OAEA Fellows, Dr. Dennis Cannon, Dr. Nancy MacGregor and Norm Schnepf.
The intent of the Ohio Art Education Foundation is to serve as the grant/scholarship issuing arm of the OAEA. Current programs include the: Classroom Incentive Grant, Teacher Enrichment Grant, higher education student scholarships, and theGovernor’s Youth Art Exhibit. Support for these programs and special initiatives are issued from funds generated from the interest on the principal investments of the Foundation.
The foundation’s primary purposes are:
To promote and advance the teaching of art in elementary through secondary levels schools in the state of Ohio
To support and assist teachers of art in the state of Ohio by awarding grants
To foster and reward careers in art education through the awarding of scholarships to higher education students engaged in art education programs
Cash donations are welcome at any time and are tax deductible. You can easily include a donation when you renew your OAEA membership, register for Conference or use the formhere. Other ways to help build the foundation include bequests, appreciated securities, mutual funds, charitable gift annuities, and life insurance policies.
