George Liston, past president of the Ohio Art Education Association and Distinguished Fellow, was honored on November 2, 2019 by the Columbus College of Art and Design through its annual Celebration of Excellence. George was honored with the Honorary Arts Educator Award, one of eight total awards presented. George has a distinguished teaching career spanning nearly four decades. George's dedication to community service and outreach has always been important to him and he shared this with his students year after year. Even after retirement the teaching never really stopped – once a teacher always a teacher. George is of an age that we all envy when thinking of a successful career and happy life. At nearly the age of 90 he remains active with Sinclair Community College where he serves as Chair Emeritus of the Advisory Board of the College of Lifelong Learning. He also is a member of the Ideas Committee of the Engineers Club of Dayton. Congratulations, George! We are all very proud of you and your many accomplishments. The Oakwood Register highlighted George’s CCAD honor, below is the photograph from the newspaper.
